CABSAT2007 to Showcase Latest Technologies in Satellite Communications
In the satellite industry, it is clearly appreciated that much of the world’s broadband information and communications technology (ICT) networking capacity is dependent on state-of-the-art satellite-based solutions, and that this is so essentially because of the three fundamental defining characteristics of satellite:

  • Cost Effectiveness
  • No Limitation of Distance, Geography or Location
  • Rapid, Economic and Reliable Deployment

Within these many commercial, industrial, government and civil society “vertical” markets around the world, there needs to be ready availability, reliable, cost-effective and access to means of communication for operational success.

Nowhere are the facts of vertical market ICT requirements more evident than in the energy exploitation environment of the ‘oil & gas patch’, in the business continuity/disaster recovery/emergency management environment, and in the extended deployment of terrestrially-based mobile – and satellite-based mobile – networks which support voice and extended broadband data applications. Satellite-based communications, together with satellite-terrestrial hybrid solutions, already play a vital role within these sectors – providing essential connectivity in challenging geographic and other difficult physical circumstances – but it is a role which has both demand-side and supply-side potential to expand.

Companies representing the latest supply and demand satellite communications technologies at CABSAT2007 include Arabsat, Eutelsat, Gulfsat, Horizon, Hughes, Lunasat, Wafa, Intelsat, Televes, Electronia and many more.

GVF Satellite Symposium @ CABSAT
  • The 3rd GVF Satellite Symposium @ CABSAT. The Symposium is organised in collaboration with CABSAT and will be taking place on 7th March from 9:30am to 4:45pm and will be co-chaired by Martin Jarrold (GVF Chief of International Programme Development) and Mohamed Youssif (GVF Regional Correspondent for the Arab States). This year promises an even greater satcoms industry profiling of the vertical markets environment.

The theme this year is ‘Applications Innovation for Mission Critical Solutions: Vertical Markets & the Growth of Middle Eastern IP Satellite’ With reference to the demand–supply/end-user–vendor context defined above, this title reflects vitally significant trends in the evolving business mission of the satellite communications industry.

For Symposium Program details, please click here.

Participation is FREE OF CHARGE, but there is LIMITED space. Availability is on a first come first serve basis.
