The Broadcasting Conference at CABSAT2007 is organised by Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), in association with the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), the Global Satellite Forum (GVF) and the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM).

CABSAT2007’s conference programme theme is ‘Digitalisation – Broadcasters Embrace the Change’ and will provide updates across a number of sectors in the digitalisation of broadcasting, with particular focus on the development status and implementation experiences from those broadcasters throughout the world who have embraced the change and are deriving the significant benefits that may be attained through digitalisation. The conference will hear, discuss and debate developments across a wide range of associated broadcasting services and applications, including HDTV, IPTV and Mobile TV. A number of industry experts from the Middle East countries will also focus on how digitalisation is transforming the local industry and the lessons to be learned along the way.

CP Cases (Stand No. D2-26)

The core with 8192 mono channels offers 512 DSP channels. With its comfortable sequence automation the mc²66 is well prepared for theatre applications. Further features of the mc²66 are the straightforward matrix and console configuration, advanced audio-follows-video with 128 events as well as parallel clean-effects summing.

IDX Technology (Stand No. F2-31)
IDX Technology continues to expand its power solutions and accessories. The leading ENDURA range adds new concepts in batteries and chargers that meet today’s HD demands for power on the move. All IDX batteries are flight friendly – within IATA limits for easy unrestricted airline carriage. The Sony stand majors on two core subjects – Production formats and techniques & Workflow in the tapeless world. The production formats include HDCAM, XDCAM HD, HDV, Live Production, Anycast Station HD and XDCAM Interoperability.

The Workflow in the tapeless world includes: File-based workflow for both SD and HD production and the HDXchange - High Definition, flexible, networked production.

Grass Valley (Stand No. E1-1)
The Grass Valley demonstrations at CABSAT2007 reflect the three key issues affecting broadcasters today: high definition, the move to tapeless workflows, and new delivery platforms. HD production will feature the new LDK 8000 camera, Kayak HD 3 M/E production switcher, K2 video server, Aurora HD production system and Edius Broadcast editing. The Infinity digital media camcorder, which records to open media such as Rev Pro disks, will also be integrated to demonstrate end-to-end tapeless workflows, as will the Indigo pro AV switcher and Turbo digital disk recorder for the presentation market. Grass Valley transmission solutions for IPTV and DVB-H mobile broadcasting as well as cable and satellite will be shown, including the new ViBE MPEG-4 encoder and the NetProcessor family of products.

Vizrt will unveil a dynamic, new version of Viz/Multi-Platform Suite (MPS), the company’s innovative, end-to-end platform that delivers real-time graphics and video content to internet browser and mobile devices. While most solutions embed graphics within the video stream, resulting in lower resolution and non-personalized content, Viz/MPS keeps the graphic and video content disassociated until the last minute. Compositing of video and graphics happens directly on the viewer’s display, with real time, 3D graphics rendered locally by each platform (phone or PC). This creates the highest quality graphic resolution and content that is both platform and user specific.

AEQ (Stand No. B2-23)
AEQ is presenting THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE NEW PRODUCT OFFERING IN ITS HISTORY. As a result of diligent R&D efforts over several years, AEQ introduces new audio and communication products for Studio and remote broadcasting with advanced technologies and innovative designs for Radio and TV. Rose Electronics, the pioneer of KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) switching technology, has released the new ViewLink KVM extender range. ViewLink enables a user to locate a (KVM) keyboard, monitor, and mouse station up to 300 metres away from the host computer, and sets new standards for signal extension at a very attractive price. The video signal can be any VGA or similar format and the keyboard/mouse interface can be either PS/2 or USB.

Venuetech (Stand No. 105)

German intercom manufacturer Riedel Communications is showing its Artist digital intercom systems. Artist is designed as a powerful digital matrix platform for intercom and the distribution of analogue and digital audio and TCP/IP data. The series provides three sizes of mainframes with a maximum number of 32, 64 and 128 ports per frame.
