CABSAT’s DrDish TV Awards 2008‎

CABSAT’s DrDishTV Awards” is a yearly event to recognise quality products, professional services and genuine ideas in the field of digital television and communication technology via satellite.

The event is organised by DrDish Television – the first and only independent TV station for media and communication technology, in cooperation CABSAT – the Middle East International Cable, Satellite, Broadcast and Communications Exhibition.

With 60% of its total staff in R&D, made up of top world-class researchers in the field of digital set-top-boxes, INTEK DIGITAL is a company which develops European standard (DVB) digital set-top boxes. Horizon Satellite Services (HSS) is a registered Satellite Space Segment Provider which caters to Middle East, Asia and African clients for Wide Area Networks and Internet via Satellite Services. HSS operates its Own Teleport from Germany with Open Transit Internet Backbone Connectivity. Current space segment coverage is provided through EUTELSAT (W5, SESAT-II, W3A & W6) & Intelsat (IS 10-02 & IS-12) Satellites.Please visit our stand for further information.

Dubai Studio City Site Invitation:

Dubai Studio City (DSC), a member of TECOM Investments, will organise a site tour for CABSAT delegates on 5 March from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Delegates will be led through the progress of the cluster that offers a complete technical and community infrastructure catering to the film, TV, radio production, as well as broadcast industries. A tour of the recently commissioned Boutique Studios, which offer an ideal environment for independent production and broadcast companies, will also be provided to the industry representatives.

The 22 million sq. ft Dubai Studio City is a dedicated free zone that includes 14 sound stages, 3.5 million sq. ft. back lot for outdoor shooting, commercial offices, pre-built studios, a business centre and post-production studios.

Exhibitor Show Case

Crystal Vision (Stand Z-41)
Crystal Vision will be launching a range of interface, keying and control products on Stand Z-41 at CABSAT, with the highlight being a live chroma key set featuring the company’s latest HD and SD chroma keyers. Amongst the eleven new HD products on show will be Q-Down, a broadcast down converter and distribution amplifier offering a unique level of image quality in its price range.

Elber (Stand ZH-2)
Elber S.r.l. will be exhibiting a range of microwave radio transmitters and receivers, wireless camera system and portable links. This equipment will be configured in order to simulate a real transmission situation. At this year show the system will also include other equipment such as multiplexers, de-multiplexers, ASI switches and ASI distributors together with the DDM310 digital modulator providing flexibility and configurability in digital transmission. The portable link, available in analogue or digital COFDM, will complement the range of fixed links for mobile applications.

‎Envoyer (Stand E2-22)
‎ Envoyer will showcase the famous Cristor brand name comprises a full range of FTA and CA-enabled STBs based on Fujitsu SmartMPEG microprocessor range and also on NEC EMMA family. The family covers DVB-S, DVB-T and also DVB-C receivers. A full range of accessories are also available, including satellite dishes, LNBs, wireless audio/video sender among others.

Evertz (ZG-23)‎
Evertz new product line offering for 2008:- With a high performance, format agnostic routing platform, the EQX (Evertz-Quartz-X-point) router accepts digital signals from 19.4 (SMPTE 310M) thru SDI, ASI, HD-SDI and up to 3G/s. The 3/G platform has now been extended to the Xenon and Topaz router brands, future proofing small and medium sized routing applications.

Kroma Telecom (ZH-3)
Kroma Telecom is Spain's leading company specialised in the design and manufacture of high resolution CRT and TFT monitors and talkback systems for the Broadcast industry. The LCD-TFT monitor line ranges from 4” and 5” multi-screen consoles to the HD ready monitor series, featuring 9”, 15”, 17”, 18”, and the new 23” and 46” LCDs will introduced in CABSAT 2008 for the first time.

‎Octopus (Z-2)
‎Introducing OCTOPUS 5.3 Newsroom computer system which is an essential software tool for journalists of infotainment and news channels. It supports news planning, gathering, production and broadcasting all along the way. Installation-free web-based client allows user access the system even from the Internet café.

‎Omneon (ZG-21)
At CABSAT Omneon offers visitors a demonstration of file-based workflow, with ingest and transmission using the Omneon MediaDeck™ server and MediaGrid™ active storage, plus ProXchange™ in-built transcoding and edit-in-place. MediaDeck is a compact, affordable integrated media server and the award-winning MediaGrid is the first content storage system that plays an active part in the broadcast workflow.‎
