The “Script to Screen in 48” Workshop & Competition will engage young professionals & film makers who take part in a half day workshop, pitch a short film idea and then film the content onsite at CABSAT within 48 hours.
The winners will be announced on the last day of the show.
Run by Martin Gaiss, Former SVP of Global Creative Content for 20th Century Fox and supported by Dubai Studio City, the Script to Screen in 48 competition has been put together for passionate film production students who are looking to demonstrate their film-making skills! Students apply online to enter the competition with a short script that they will bring along to CABSAT. They will receive a detailed film-production workshop from Martin where they will learn how to turn their script into exciting filmed content….after which they will then have 48 hours to turn their short film into reality onsite at CABSAT! The competition will promote young Arabic and international film-makers in the region and will screen the short films live on the last day of the show.
Dubai Studio City will be supporting the competition and offering an internship as one of the top prizes.
Open to Media Students from 18-25 year old, "Script to Screen in 48," sponsored by Dubai Studio City, welcomes you to take part in a 48 hour production challenge.
A total of 6 teams (maximum 5 crew members per team) will be battling to create vibrant content under the theme of “ My Dubai ”.
The selected teams will be receiving a briefing on January 14th by the industry guru Martin Gaiss, Former SVP of Global Creative Content for 20th Century Fox and will then be provided with mentorship and the equipment to create a short movie/ documentary/ music video of 60 seconds minimum or a maximum of 5 minutes.
Out of the 6 teams, the top 3 videos will be aired on January 16th at CABSAT and winners will be announced.
